Yoga, Meditation, Breath Work
Yoga, Meditation, and Breath Work (also known as pranayama) are powerful tools to support physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well being. As such, classes in any of these topics requires that the client first complete a thorough initial consultation, unless the client is being referred for a specific issue from another health practitioner.
Bridges To Wellness uses two main approaches for teaching classes on Yoga, Meditation, and Pranayama:
In both approaches, the consultant works with you to understand your physical situation and any current challenges. Follow-up appointments allow your progress to be evaluated and your home-going program to be refined and/or expanded to facilitate your needs and goals.
Consultant Tailored approach:
From this foundation, specific asanas (yoga postures) or sequence of asanas, specific Pranayama and Meditations are chosen and taught to you so you can practice them at home.
Consultant Selected approach:
Some clients may be better served with one or more kriyas (specific, fixed sequence of asana, breath, and mantra) or meditations from the lineage of Kundalini Yoga-as Taught by Yogi Bhajan. In this lineage, the kriyas and meditations are not modified. The consultant chooses specific kriyas and meditations based on their experience in Kundalini Yoga combined with their knowledge of Ayurveda to precisely and potently address the clients needs and goals.
